While the high school cross country season is hitting its peak, the college recruiting process is doing much the same. Over the past few weeks, many of the top prep harriers have begun to announce where they'll take their talents next fall. Here are a few of the top commitments, thus far:

Jim Rosa & Joe Rosa (NJ) - This past week, word spread that the Rosa brothers were taking their talents to Palo Alto. With numerous confirmations by media outlets, the Stanford Cardinal are getting a big boost to their already incredibly impressive roster. The Rosas are easily two of the top five recruits in the class of 2011, and join a program that has been a consistent winner for over 10 years.

Zach Wills (OH) - Two years ago, I talked with Oklahoma State coach Dave Smith about recruiting. He was in the midst of wrapping up his first year working with German Fernandez, and said it would be two years before he had another monster recruiting class. Well, it's been two years and their 2011 recruiting class got a nice boost with Zach Wills. The multi-time Ohio state champion seems excited to join the Cowboy, and why wouldn't he with the talented roster that's already been assembled.

Chelsey Sveinsson (TX) - While it's yet to be confirmed by other media outlets, the TTFCA has Chelsey Sveinsson listed as verbally committing to Stanford University. The Cardinal just won the Pac-10 Championships, and the conference is easily the power conference in the country. Sveinsson will rehash her rivalry with Oregon's Jordan Hasay, which provides fans with an exciting match-up for at least two more years.

Craig Lutz (TX) - Lutz has flied under the radar for much of the cross country season, thus far. However, you can easily bet that once Foot Locker and Nike Cross Nationals roll around, Lutz will be getting more attention than ever. Early on in the fall, Lutz announced his intention to run for the University of Texas next fall. He joins a growing contingent of talented Texas preps to stay in state and run for the Longhorns.
